The rain was pouring.
It simulated driving through a curtain of water. The thwack-thwack of the windscreen wipers
was hypnotic. He was reminded of the opening scenes of a Hitchcock film.
Through the rain he spotted a person with their thumb out. Why on earth would anyone be hitchhiking tonight? He signalled and pulled over. The hitchhiker climbed in and shut the door quickly.
‘Awful night.’ said the driver.
‘Yes. Yes it is.’
Drops of water trickled down the hitchhiker’s face .The stranger glanced over his shoulder into the darkness behind them.
‘What’s your name?’ asked the driver.
‘Friends call me Si.’
They drove on. The BBC radio blared out.
‘Where are you heading?’ asked the driver.
‘North.’ The hitchhiker replied.
The sight before Cate took her breath away. Cate’s horse pranced nervously in the strange, new cold. Her reins felt stiff in her hands. Cate and her horse Winter had felt this change coming in the earth.
Ever since Cate could remember, her village had talked about this cold season called winter that would blanket the earth in ancient times. Cate would dream about what she thought winter would feel like. She could only go off drawings and what her elders told her.
When Matt sees Tom and Emilia for the first time and doesn’t know what to do. Matt is alone in the house and sees two kids, probably from the Alacran estate. He is very surprised and he doesn’t know what to do. Celia said not to go anywhere outside the house, or talk to people from the Alacran estate. Matt doesn’t know who these strange people are. Matt has never seen or talked to anyone but Celia.
Matt didn’t know this, but Mr. Alacran didn’t want anyone to know about Matt. So, he told Celia to keep Matt away from any human contact.
Matt didn’t know what to say to Tom and Emilia. This time was scary for Matt because he really didn’t know what to do. Matt is terrified and Celia is not there to help him!
Induction Scenes I and II
In the induction, we meet a drunk beggar named Christopher Sly, who is arguing with the Hostess of an Alehouse over glassware he has broken in his drunken state. Sly leaves but soon passes out, where he is discovered by a lord returning from the hunt. This lord decides to have a bout of fun and orders his servants to take Sly back to his house and treat him as if he were the lord: put him to bed, place rings on his fingers and prepare a banquet for him. The confusion that follows not only provides excellent comedy, but also introduces important topics in the play: the roles of class, gender, and marital status (normally set in stone) in the play become matters of appearance and perception.
What is the problem in the Antz movie? First of all, the ants are ruled by fear. It is not a free country so that means they don’t have any choices . All of the ants think it is ok that there is no choices, but Zee doesn’t. Everyone thinks the leader is great but, really, he is a really bad leader and misleading them. Overall, I think the main problem is their leader, because he’s misleading them and leading them in the wrong way.
